The right time to apply depends on market demand and your target entry point. Early years and key transition years often have the longest waiting lists.
Families relocating internationally should usually start six to nine months in advance for competitive schools. If you are targeting a mid-year move, ask directly how the school handles rolling admissions and late assessments.
Best practice timing
- Start research at least six months ahead for competitive cities
- Book tours early because peak season fills quickly
- Prepare all records before the application opens
- Keep two or three realistic backup options active
Preparation is what creates flexibility. Families who prepare early can choose; families who start late often have to react.
